The Mission of the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County is to teach the history of the Holocaust and its lessons through education and community outreach. We teach about the dangers of antisemitism, racism, bullying and all manifestations of intolerance. We promote resistance to prejudice and advocate respect for every human being.

HMTC’s core exhibition is open for self-guided visits. No advance reservation is required.

Garden Tours are available April 15-November 15, weather permitting, by appointment only. HMTC offers one-hour docent led tours of the Children’s Memorial Garden, which is dedicated to the 1.5 million child victims of the Holocaust and includes 14 stations with quotes by victims, rescuers, Survivors and other writers. Visitors will learn about the history of the Holocaust in this distinctive outdoor space.
