Ma’s House & BIPOC Art Studio is a dynamic, Indigenous-led art space rooted in community, creativity, and cultural reclamation. Founded in 2020 by Shinnecock Nation artist Jeremy Dennis, Ma’s House is located on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton, New York. Housed in the Silva family home, this restored 1960s residence now operates as a nonprofit communal space dedicated to supporting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) artists through residencies, exhibitions, shared studio access, and public programs.
More than a studio, Ma’s House is a vibrant hub for artistic expression, education, and healing—welcoming artists and community members alike to engage with contemporary art, Indigenous history, and issues of social justice. Through its growing network of collaborators and commitment to elevating underrepresented voices, Ma’s House serves as both a creative refuge and a powerful platform for liberation through the arts.

Lauren Wagner is the Executive Director of the Long Island Arts Alliance, where she leads advocacy, policy, and community initiatives to strengthen the arts and cultural sector across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. A passionate champion for arts education, nonprofit sustainability, and creative collaboration, Lauren brings a decade of experience in cultural leadership to her work. When she's not convening arts leaders or testifying for arts funding, she’s likely chasing after her two young boys or crafting crayon art.
